A copper rose sunrise in Lamorna

In March 2020 I took up running. I ran along the coastpath between Lamorna and Mousehole as it is close to where I live. I ran very early in the morning, being out early often meant there was never another soul in sight, just me nature and the sound of the sea and wind. The light at that time of the morning was incredible. I often stopped to take a photo of the sunrise. This painting evolved from one of my morning run photographs. Running along the cliffs by myself had a profound effect on me, I experienced what some might call a spiritual awakening. My outlook completely transformed. I found a sense of deep peace on these cliffs and this painting signifies a very personal moment in my life whereby I found a deeper connection between myself, nature and where I stand in my own experience in this life.
